We look after every step in the process - from listing your home to presenting you with the rental cheque. More specifically, we will:

Meet with you at your home to answer your questions, familiarize ourselves with the property and make arrangements for photographs to be taken.
Prepare promotional copy for your web pages on the BC Vacation Homes website.
Receive all expressions of interest and book reservations for qualifying visitors.
We charge the guest a cleaning fee.

As an owner, what are my responsibilities?

As a BC Vacation Rental registered owner you essentially have three areas of responsibility:

Availability. Your home must be available for at least six weeks during the year and for a minimum of one week at a time. It is to your advantage if some or all of this time falls during the very popular May to October tourist season. We also ask that owners keep us current as to availability, and in particular to any changes that might conflict with reserved bookings.
Condition of home and grounds. To obtain the highest weekly rate, homes should be clean and in good physical and operating condition. As a service to new registrants we inspect each property with the owners and, when appropriate, suggest reasonable cosmetic and other improvements that we consider advisable to the success of the rental.
Contents and facilities. Homes must be fully furnished and come equipped with modern, functioning appliances such as fridge, range, washer/dryer and TV.

In addition, two sets of good quality linens are needed for each bed, plus two sets of matching towels for each guest.

We also offer three packages in order to accommodate the needs of our clients:

The Silver Package

This is for the homeowner who wants privacy. We will take all inquiries ie: calls and emails from prospective guests enabling us to screen the clients before allowing them to contact you for an annual fee of $199.00 CAD. when we do have a match we charge a $49.99 CAD handling fee.

The Gold Package

This package is for the person who wants a more hands on approach to managing their vacation rental, in this case the home owner would deal directly with the guest arranging all the details, directions payments and instructions.

We charge a 10% commission when we have a match.

The Diamond package

This package is for the busy person who does not have the time or desire to deal with the customer personally manage your property to make your vacation rental business a worry free experience, the services we provide are listed below:

We Screen all potential guest to ensure your home is enjoyed in a responsible way.
We ensure that you get paid by the guest six weeks prior to check in with certified cheque, bank draft or money order. (credit cards if owners accepted)
Provide key locations (2 set), driving directions (Google maps), and contacts numbers.
We provide 3 pages rental contracts on behalf of the home owners for the guest..
Meet and greet the guest at the property to take them on an orientation tour, provide them with keys, 24-hour emergency contact number and other instructions they may need to know regarding the property.

We charge a 25% deposit for this service on credit card when we have a match.

Every home that is registered with BC Vacation Homes receives premium exposure on our website at BC Vacation Homes, complete with indoor/outdoor photographs and professionally-designed copy describing the home, its location and amenities.
